Kelly is Head of Live, Theatre and Music Writers at the MU, overseeing work in relation to gigging & touring and songwriting & composition. As a member of the LIVE (Live Music Industry Venues & Entertainment) Board, the Union contributes to political lobbying and discussions within the industry around issues affecting musicians, and also publishes sector-specific advice and guidance for members working at all levels in the live sector.
Kelly was previously Keyboardist in Manchester band, The Lovers, and a Script Editor for ITV.
