Rocking all over the world: Breaking boundaries in the international festival scene

Friday 28th April
PHASE ONE

13:00 - 13:45

Europe accounts for less than a third of the global music market and yet the continent’s artistic landscape is incredibly saturated with over 1.6 million artists and writers all battling to be heard. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly valuable for artists to expand their global audience by entering into the wider international festival circuit. In this panel, led by Joel mills of the British Council, we will discuss the many benefits of performing at international festivals, the help artists can receive to make international touring viable and how they can create the right connections and reach the right people to enter into the international festival circuit. We will be joined by Piyapong Muenprasertdee, Co-founder & Director of Educational, Governmental and Overseas Partnership, Toan Pham, the CEO of Vietnam’s HOZO festival and Beril Sarialtun of WOW Fest who will be offering their unique insights into how the international festival circuit differs from that of the UK and how homegrown artists can expand their horizons and bag a slot at an international festival.
